These were the expressions heard at a recent cooking presentation held at the “Ornare” showroom in the Miami Design District.

At an event hosted by Chef Carmen Trigueros and Fabulous Miami at this exclusive design studio the Carico Ultra Tech II Cookware was demonstrated and featured as the product of choice and received a very positive response from the group of about 60 people that were in attendance. They were amazed at the ease with which the cookware performed, how beautiful it looked and the difference in the taste of the dishes that were prepared in this healthy way..

Americans Are Getting Fat & Reducing their Life Span

According to a recent study in the International Journal of Obesity, Americans are becoming obese earlier in life thus experiencing a greater duration of obesity over their lifetime. This trend may accelerate the prevalence of type 2 diabetes across the
U.S. population.

The information was gathered from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) from 1971-2006 or over the course of 35 years. The study concluded that “Increasing cumulative exposure to excess weight over the lifetime of recent birth cohorts will likely have profound implications for future rates of type 2 diabetes and mortality in the U.S.”

Cyanide in Tap Water?

A recent report from Fox News local affiliate in West Palm Beach focuses on what kind of contaminants are commonly found in tap water and which ingredients arenʼt being tested for.
According to the Environmental Working Group, a non-profit group that studied tap water across the entire United States, “People have a good reason to be worried.” They found contaminants, like Trihalomethanes, that sometimes go above recommended safety levels. Trihalomethanes are a liver toxin and can be very dangerous. They also found more than 200 chemicals in our tap water that arenʼt government regulated such as cyanide from industrial pollution.
According to Dr. Bill Louda, an Environmental Biochemist, if your really worried about your tap water, “I would spend the money on a final use filtration system.”
