According to a New York Times article on Sun-Sentinel.com, eating food at a slower pace causes people to feel full sooner and consume less calories.
The report stems from 2 distinct studies which stated that eating slower releases more hormones and was responsible for making people feel satiated faster which leads to eating less.
In a 2008 study published in The Journal of the American Dietetic Association, subjects felt full quicker and consumed 10 percent less calories.
Conversely in another study by The British Medical Journal, people who ate quickly until they felt full, had triple the risk of being overweight.
In addition to eating slowly, we recommend using Caricoʼs waterless and greaseless cookware, Ultra-Tech II. Itʼs easy to use, easy to clean and seals in all the vitamins, nutrients and flavor.

Roast Pork with Glaze Apples
Try this recipe and let us know what you think. We want to hear from you.
4 pound pork sirloin
1 garlic clove
Salt & pepper
Oregano
Apple gelatin
Rub the meat with a garlic clove and season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Place the roast in a preheated Carico Fry Sauté Pan on medium heat without the cover. Brown the pork on both sides. Approximately 7-10 minutes per side. Then place the Carico Ultra Tech II cover on with the Ultra Tech valve open.
You will notice that the temperature gauge will quickly rise to the “red” temperature reading on the gauge and then the whistle will alert you. Place pan with the Ultra Temp Valve open on medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and close the Ultra Temp valve. Cook for 2 hours. To insure the pork is cooked at the right internal temperature the thermometer should register 185F. Then pour the dissolved apple gelatin on to the meat. Serves 6 people

Pasta Fagoli Recipe
This is the Pasta Fagoli recipe I cooked in the Carico Ultra Cooker, it was excellent:
1-1/2 cups dried white cannellini beans, soaked overnight or pressure-soaked
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
4 ounces pancetta or prosciutto, finely chopped
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 tablespoon chopped rosemary
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 (14-ounce) can plum tomatoes, chopped
3 cups chicken broth
1-1/2 cups penne or small rotini,
salt and pepper to taste
For more information about Carico's Ultra Cooker, click here.
In Carico’s Ultra Cooker on “browning function”, without the lid heat olive oil. Sauté celery, onion, carrot, pancetta, and garlic until onions begin to brown. Stir in beans, herbs, tomatoes, and broth. Lock the Carico Ultra Cooker lid and select the “soup function” and cook. Allow pressure to drop naturally.
Once pressure drops on its own accord, check beans. If not yet soft, return pot to full pressure and cook for 1-2 minutes more, allowing pressure to again drop naturally. Remove Carico’s Ultra Cooker lid and stir in pasta. Simmer, uncovered, for 5-7 minutes or until pasta is tender. Serve up individual portions. Drizzle olive oil atop and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Cyanide in Tap Water?
A recent report from Fox News local affiliate in West Palm Beach focuses on what kind of contaminants are commonly found in tap water and which ingredients arenʼt being tested for.
According to the Environmental Working Group, a non-profit group that studied tap water across the entire United States, “People have a good reason to be worried.” They found contaminants, like Trihalomethanes, that sometimes go above recommended safety levels. Trihalomethanes are a liver toxin and can be very dangerous. They also found more than 200 chemicals in our tap water that arenʼt government regulated such as cyanide from industrial pollution.
According to Dr. Bill Louda, an Environmental Biochemist, if your really worried about your tap water, “I would spend the money on a final use filtration system.”
Fortunately, Carico offers a wide range of point of use water filtration systems. Point of use systems offer protection at the final point in which the water could possibly become contaminated. This can reduce or eliminate contamination from old pipes, organic matter and even bacteria.

This 10 in 1 unit will quickly brown and cook in 8 minutes a 3 pound whole chicken. 12 cups of perfectly cooked rice in less time than stove top cooking. It has a slow cooker function, a steamer function, and it will quickly cook baby foods, steam dumplings and other foods and will cook a tough cut of meat and make them tender and juicy in less than 10 minutes. The reason why brides select Carico is that once they know about the company and its products, they simply fall in love with Carico. For many years, we have often heard customers and representatives of Carico say “everybody loves Carico”... yes, “everybody loves Carico”. Since 1967, thousands of brides throughout the world have been investing into Carico products. Sales have been consistent for our 43 year old established Company.
What makes Carico unique? Why has our company grown from a $65.00 per month warehouse space to having its Corporate Headquarters situated on 5 acres of prime real estate in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with over 100,000 square feet of office and warehousing? How did it grow from one man to having over 150 staff members working in its corporate headquarters and hundreds of distributors located in over 20 countries? How did it grow into a house ware giant with over 11 different, top quality, exclusive products?
The answers are simple:

-Of this amount, 2/3 of the total sales generated are from sales of house wares, i.e. cookware, china, crystal and tableware.
-The brides spend more on these products than on any other products which make up this industry.
-Today’s brides are conscience about their health and their families’ health, and are making simple lifestyle changes to insure good health
-More people are dining and entertaining at home for many reasons, such as, it is more economical and they are interested in family social/core values
